This year’s historical election provided an opportunity for us to exercise our civil right, granted to us as Americans, to elect whom we felt would be the best leader as President of the United States. Election Day has passed and the results are finally in. We would like to congratulate President-elect Joseph R. Biden, Jr., who will become our 46th President of the United States.
As it is projected that some 161 million Americans voted, not only was this presidential election a great example of our democracy at work; history has been made! Senator Kamala D. Harris became the first female and first woman of color Vice President-elect. This is a true testament that anything is possible in America.
Here in the U.S., we have the right to participate in the selection process of our elected leaders. Although this election has ended, we are still reminded of the importance of voting, as it gives us the opportunity to have our voices heard, weighing in on critical policies and decisions that affect our lives today, tomorrow, and for many years to come. It also provides us the opportunity to choose those persons whom we believe best exemplify our core beliefs and values. Your vote is your choice.
While to vote or not is a right and decision that should be made in private and after careful thought and consideration, exercising your right to do so yields positive outcomes not just for yourself, but for your families and communities. Remember to continue to have your voices heard. Vote in your local elections during this upcoming election cycle.
