COVID-19 has had a tremendous impact on our local businesses and communities be it mentally, emotionally, medically, and/or financially. Now is the time for us to ban together, stronger and more united. In this brave new world, you can be an asset to your community and local businesses via the following vehicles:

  • Invisible Hands – needs volunteers to help bring groceries to vulnerable people in the five boroughs and parts of New Jersey.
  • Meals on Wheels – Vulnerable seniors are at the greatest risk amid COVID-19. In response to the coronavirus crisis, this program is giving home-delivered meals to the elderly.
  • NYC Presbyterian Senior Services – provides professional hands-on consultations and vital information for those with serious health conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia. In response to the coronavirus crisis, they are providing daily-to-go meals for older adults ages 60 and older.
  • United Way of New York City (UWNYC) – a dedicated resource to support the COVID-19 public health emergency. They have mobilized with their broad network of over 600 community-based partners throughout the City to provide assistance to families to weather the COVID-19 crisis. The network of community partners will provide direct services through their ReadNYC, FeedNYC, and StrengthenNYC programs.
    • UWNYC has also created a COVID-19 Community Fund that will provide resources to their partner agencies and community-based organizations that work with communities who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak.
  • The Bowery Mission: The Bowery Mission is helping people experiencing homelessness. During the coronavirus crisis, The Bowery Mission is currently offering breakfast (8AM) and lunch (1PM) meals at the Bowery campus, showers and clothing, overnight shelter at the TriBeCa campus, residential programs for men and women, support for children and families and etc.
  • The Salvation Army – In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Salvation continues to house the homeless, feed the hungry, and meet human needs in every respect.
  • Ronald McDonald House New York: Ronald McDonald House New York provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families in a strong, supportive, and caring environment. In response to the COVID-19 cases, the organization is delivering catered meals in to-go containers as well as wellness and kid-friendly care packages to each of the families that are stationed in one of the institutions.
  • Donate funds or food to a local food bank: With unemployment skyrocketing during the coronavirus outbreak, many families may find themselves needing help for the first time. Click here for more information about finding a local food bank to support.
